Air conditioning · Jamaica-ready comfort
AC sizing without the guesswork.
The floor area matters, but it is only the beginning. Sun, ceiling height, people, equipment, airflow and installation quality all affect how comfortably and efficiently an AC performs.
Step 1
Define the actual space
Measure length and width, note ceiling height and decide whether doors normally keep the cooled area contained. An open-plan living area behaves differently from a closed bedroom of the same floor area.
- Record room length, width and ceiling height.
- Note open doorways, stairwells and connected spaces.
- Identify where indoor and outdoor units could be safely installed.
Step 2
Account for Jamaica's heat load
A west-facing room with large glass, a hot roof or cooking equipment can need more cooling than a shaded room of the same size. Bedrooms, offices, shops and kitchens also have different occupancy and equipment loads.
- Note direct afternoon sun and unshaded windows.
- Count the people usually in the room.
- List heat-producing equipment such as ovens, computers or display refrigeration.
- Tell Delta if the space is top-floor, poorly insulated or frequently opened to outdoors.
Step 3
Check the electrical and installation conditions
Efficiency ratings assume the system is installed and operating as intended. The circuit, drain route, pipe length, outdoor-unit airflow and mounting location all affect the finished result.
- Confirm the available voltage and a suitable dedicated circuit.
- Plan condensate drainage without unsafe shortcuts.
- Give the outdoor unit clear airflow and service access.
- Include stairs, height, security grilles or difficult access in the request.
Keep in mind: A product capacity recommendation is not an appointment or installation quote. Delta confirms the site, materials and scope before work.
Step 4
Choose for steady comfort
An oversized unit may cool the air quickly but cycle poorly and remove less humidity. An undersized unit may run continuously without reaching comfort. Correct sizing and inverter operation should be considered together with installation quality and how the room is used.
- Compare inverter operation, energy information and expected use hours.
- Ask what is included in standard installation.
- Keep filters and outdoor airflow clear after installation.
- Retain the model, serial, warranty and service reference.
